Hope you all like it.
The film is based on one little turning point that throws the whole perspective of the hunted and hunter. It is well-done and creeps onto you without notice. Again, a lack of fanfare does it a lot of credit. The shock of the content is enough for stomachs to churn in surprise and the director is intelligent enough to realise that.”A Wednesday” serves as magic, due to its grip plot line. The trip, from start to finish of a fateful Wednesday, keeps you on tenterhooks.
Naseerudin Shah has already proved himself over the years and “A Wednesday” easily makes its way into his Top 5 works. His talk on the “Common Man” before the movie ends is an obvious specimen of his talent. If there is one player who could face Shah, it is Anupam Kher.Goose pimples develope in the concluding scene when both giants meet face to face.
The movie throws an open debate on the Democracy of India and its giving to the common man.Of course, terrorism is the background image here, but a Wednesday talk on the status and power of the common man. This songless flick has come out as one of the best and bravest films to come out in 2008.
Just like my review,it is a small film that not only has it heart and mind in the right place but also its technique and message.I beleive many of you are yet to watch it.My suggestion for them is to go for the movie right now.
“A must watch for every indian”
AFTER MUCH hype, finally, the ‘Prince of Kolkata’, Sourav Ganguly announced his retirement from international cricket. The former Indian captain disclosed his retirement decision at a press conference in Bangalore.Sourav said he will quit cricket after the ongoing four-Test series against Australia. The left-handed batsman mentioned that he had already informed his teammates that this would be his last series in international cricket.
So will it affect the mindset of other seniors players? Will the fab four leave the cricket arena one after the other?Questions are wandering in every cricket fanatic. Some say the media speculations played a vital role in his retirement.Others are sure it was his own resolution.
His contribution had been immense to international cricket. He started his Test career in a superb fashion in 1996, by scoring a ton at the Mecca of Cricket, Lord’s. In his very first Test series, Ganguly impressed all by hitting back-to-back tons.No one can forget those 183 invaluable runs scored against Sri lanka in the 1999 World Cup.He also has 5 wicket hauls to his kitty. The Bengali has amassed 15000 odd runs in One day internationals with 31 centuries to his credit.Hailed as one of the most gifted left-handers in cricket,Dada was india’s most successful captain with 21 test wins. The nation also witnessed his team reaching the Finals of the 2003 World Cup.Its hard to forget the inestimable moment when Sourav stripped his shirt at Lord’s celeberating India’s unexpected victory against England. At one point of time he used to be called the God on off-side.He stands third in the list of hitting maximum number of sixes in ODIs.
1:30pm.I was driving through Akbar Road.It started raining all of a sudden.I parked my bike beside the road and rushed towards a Peepal tree for shelter.I could smell the wet mud’s effuvium. The City witnessed its first heavy downpour.
Alas!a girl clad in white salwaar kameez carrying a black purse was hurrying towards me.She stood beside me.I made my mind,I should start. “Baarish Tez hai !” ,I remarked. She smiled back(I bet that smile would make hundreds ‘go bananas’). “Whats the time “? I asked .She showed a “V” sign made out of her index and middle finger meaning 2PM.My cellphone rang.I was in no mood to attend it for two reasons:
(1)My cellphone wasn’t water resistant.
“Kaise main kahoon tujhse..Rehna hai tere dil mein..” was my ringtone which kept on ringing.I imagined both of us amidst a movie/song sequence of RHTDM.Her hair was drenched with water.I loved it when she fondled them and turned them backwards. She looked like an enchantress in white and the transparency(thanks to the rain) added to the increasing glitz.Heavy winds accompanied rain, water started pouring towards us.She took a step back, slipped and was in my arms.Cellphone rang again “Kaise main kahoon tujhse..Rehna hai tere dil mein..“.The scene lasted 5 seconds until i whispered “Sorry”.
We were silent for the next 10 minutes.I spotted her purse which accidently fell before the “arms-scene”.As soon as the pouring ceased, she glimpsed at me and pointed towards her purse. This implied that i should pick it up and hand it over to her.I turned back, leaped a few steps and heard the dark clouds roar.I rotated back to see if she was alright. She was gone.I hurried back to the place where we stood.I was astounded.I turned around for the purse. It was gone.
7PM.I was surfing the news channels.A newsreader said “The state experienced its first downpour. Finally good news for farmers.Everyone seems to enjoy the season.Meanwhile Villagers have their superstitions flowing. One of them remarked ‘Beware of Peepal trees, spirits are often predicted during rains'”.
I checked my cellphone’s “Missed Calls” record. There wasn’t a single call since morning.
It was 15th feb (post Valentine’s Day).We were finished with our “Rocketrix” event in the afternoon.Open Theater was scheduled tonight in the chilling weather at 12 AM.”The Prestige” was to be aired starring Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale. Our unit of eight guys, after completing the dinner reached SAC building where the screen was put up inside a small ground.Me,Abhishek,Raza and Yadav watched the movie a week back at Yadav’s place. It was midnight and the movie rolled.
I turned my eyeballs to the sides observing that each boy was accompanied by the opposite sex(GFs).Some even bought shawls wrapping themselves inside it.My crazy mind simply thought of “Foreplay” going on inside.
While Raza was keen to watch the movie Abhishek,Yadav and me were determined to leave.Reasons:
1.We watched the movie before
2.We were still single.
Yadav cooked up an alibi saying that he left his cell phone in Abhishek’s bag and cryptically made impressions to both of us to leave. We left SAC.
Before the festival started,we heard rumours/truths that couples are usually seen sitting and smooching in a corner/beside a tree/empty classrooms. We rushed to our hall and grabbed Piyush’s(1st yr Junie) Video camera.Piyush was asleep fantasizing his Dreamy Girl. The trio moved outside the hall and scooted towards HALL 8.
In no time,we reached our destination until we halted.I saw a couple smooching behind the “Generator House”(to be exact under a tree beside the house).Hunters were ready to prowl.I walked slowly towards(behind) them.I indicated to Abhishek and Yadav to come as i found a small concrete wall.Yadav opened the lens cover.Abhishek said “LIGHTS CAMERA ACTION”….
The first word that Abhishek uttered didn’t quite suit the situation as it was completely dark. But the other two did.We started filming them.Oh man,we did it for the first time. The three were in a state of high alert. The couple got locked in passionate love making. He started with the cheeks, nose, eyes and followed it with a series of smooches in the vicinity of her lips. The Recording time flashed 18 mins. All of a sudden,a “Summer of ’69” tune was heard.Oh Fuck..it was my cell phone flashing a SMS by Ankit. It read a terse “Kutton kahan ho ?”.The guy abruptly turned back in suspicion that something was fishy. We hid ourselves behind the wall. The tense moments lasted 5 mins and the couple were back on track.Thay started it again,so did our camera.I could notice the boy’s hand sliding down her neck.Wow,we hallucinated us being there.Another 10 mins they were done. They moved apace towards the road connecting the SAC building. We recorded 39 mins which included 5 mins of blackout(Ankit’s SMS).
We had a cup of coffee until we reverted back to SAC.The movie was in its last peg.Half an hour passed,it ended. Our excitement had no bounds.Everyone was feeling dozy.We had another round of coffee until we snoozed. The next morning we showed the Video to everybody. Each had its own Ooooohs and Aaaahs.Janmejay said”Saale mujhe bhi bula liya hota“.We laughed.
Smoking still remains one of the leading cause of preventable death. Smoking has the dubious distinction of affecting all the systems from head to foot.
Following are some of the ways to Quit Smoking:
(1)If you want to cut down on your smoking gradually, try to: switch brands to one you find distasteful; smoke only half of each cigarette; smoke without inhaling; buy cigarettes by the pack, not the carton; hide your cigarettes in an inconvenient place; keep a smoking “record” of when you smoke and why, and try to eliminate the least important cigarettes.
(2)Once you’ve started to cut down, set a daily quota and reduce the number of cigarettes you smoke each day; increase your exercise; postpone your cigarette until you can go all day without one; smoke only in uncomfortable places; spend time where smoking is prohibited; do things that occupy your hands.
(3)Throw out your cigarettes, lighters, matches and ashtrays. Find someone to quit with you. To reinforce your decision, have your teeth cleaned; begin an exercise program; estimate how much money you will save.

The promos were awesome, original….the movie could not have expected a more grand opening than this…
Last Friday ,i saw the movie(2nd show)…
(1)Ranbir Kapoor was simply gr8…i mean i find him the only actor who can touch the heights as attained by Hrithik -Shahrukh .His acting was commendable as a debutant. His dancing skills were gud….and the “towel” scene brings smiles to all faces whoever watches the movie…..Throughout the movie …ppl just have no doubts comparing his persona with “Raj Kapoor“….
(2)Location,sets was unbelievable…..i think the last movie which i saw with this kinda sets was “HARRY POTTER”….The lakes, bridge, walls etc….everything was beutifully shown….
The title song was amazing….although all of ’em are slow number soothing ur hearts….but they are a bit boring towards the end…
The scene to watch out is the “Bar Scene“…..when Ranbir sings a song for Sonam…
(1)Story not impressive….
(2)Not a paisavasool movie….IS teh movie is a hit —-that totally depends on ur taste….
Go for the movie…..Agar pyaar kiya hai to u ll surely enjoy the movie(Thats the bottomline)
Well athis is wat ….Renowned critic “Nikhat Kazmi” said….
“Go for it when you are in a rhapsodic mood and you might just rave about it. But if you’re looking for fun, Saawariya isn’t the answer. “
