Sourav Ganguly aka DADA to bid adieu..

Sourav Ganguly

AFTER MUCH hype, finally, the ‘Prince of Kolkata’, Sourav Ganguly announced his retirement from international cricket. The former Indian captain disclosed his retirement decision at a press conference in Bangalore.Sourav said he will quit cricket after the ongoing four-Test series against Australia. The left-handed batsman mentioned that he had already informed his teammates that this would be his last series in international cricket.

So will it affect the mindset of other seniors players? Will the fab four leave the cricket arena one after the other?Questions are wandering in every cricket fanatic. Some say the media speculations played a vital role in his retirement.Others are sure it was his own resolution.

Sourav Jubiliant after Century

His contribution had been immense to international cricket. He started his Test career in a superb fashion in 1996, by scoring a ton at the Mecca of Cricket, Lord’s. In his very first Test series, Ganguly impressed all by hitting back-to-back tons.No one can forget those 183 invaluable runs scored against Sri lanka in the 1999 World Cup.He also has 5 wicket hauls to his kitty. The Bengali has amassed 15000 odd runs in One day internationals with 31 centuries to his credit.Hailed as one of the most gifted left-handers in cricket,Dada was india’s most successful captain with 21 test wins. The nation also witnessed his team reaching the Finals of the 2003 World Cup.Its hard to forget the inestimable moment when Sourav stripped his shirt at Lord’s celeberating India’s unexpected victory against England. At one point of time he used to be called the God on off-side.He stands third in the list of hitting maximum number of sixes in ODIs.

Twenty 20 World Cup!!

This a new form of cricket introduced recently, an obvious treat for the spectators.Players like Shahid Afridi,Sanath Jayasuriya,M S Dhoni,Gayle,Symonds etc…relish this kinda play!!…..

Principle:Murder the bowlers…score runs…n runs….n runs.!! 🙂

The  bowlers become innocent victims…only reason why gr8 bowlers opted out of this tournament!!

A 20 overs apiece match!!The crowd loves this…u can expect a score of over 250 or more..A turnover is expected this time also..

(1)Hope the Aussies don’t win it thsi time.

(2)May India,which is I think banking on M S Dhoni n Yuvraj emerge as champs….

(3)They have their 1st match today…BEST OF LUCK.

(4)Sehwag will fire this season!!

(5)Kiwis can win!!

Hope for the best!

Sachin Tendulkar…Taufel Shocker!!

sachin_salute1.jpgThe maestro misses another (38)century.He got out on 91.  After playing a patience yet a masterful innings ,he got out to a wrong decision to Simon Taufel just after lunch.the ball pitched outside the stumps ,tendulkar was looking towards the ball as he was sure ..he is not out ..but to his amazement, simon gave him out after a delayed thought.paul collingwood was the bowler…tendulkar was eventually dazed at the decision.he walked back to the pavilion with a huge disappointment.India were well placed at 342/4 but  poor lbw decision prevented yet another feather in the maestro’s book.

Overnight ,the legend piled up his 11000th run.saurav and sachin batted resolutely and helped India to stretch their lead.Meanwhile india are in a commanding positon.Sunil Gavaskar commented “a true shocker from the umpire who has won the ICC’s best umpire award for three years in succession. And this is not just one incident, even Dravid’s decision in the second innings of the first match was a bad one”.but ya this is for sure he on ce again silenced the critics {may be for a fortnight 🙂  }
